The barn saw it's first dance in 2003 when it was 100 years old.  The previous year when the Draxton's were painting it they thought having a square dance was an appropriate way to celebrate it's 100th birthday.  Soon neighbors, friends and family who had heard about the plans came together that summer to form the dance floor.  The floor had been taken from an old wooden grainary.  After attending the dance a close family friend who had recently been engaged decided this was was where her wedding reception needed to be.  Again, with the help of family and friends, three months later the barn now had a concrete floor, functioning kitchen, bathrooms, and a finished dance floor.
